Annual report 2008-09

This is the 2008–09 Annual Report of the Department of Climate Change. The department’s annual report outlines performance against the outcome and output structure as reported in the Portfolio Budget Statements 2008–09 and Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements 2008–09.

Guide to the report

Section 1   of the report comprises the Secretary’s review for 2008–09, and includes the department’s major achievements in 2008–09 and its future focus in 2009–10.

Section 2   includes overviews of the portfolio and the department and describes the department’s role, functions, organisational structure and outcome and output framework.

Section 3   analyses the department’s performance against the department’s policy outcome and three outputs for the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009.

Section 4   reports on management and accountability in the department.

Section 5   presents the audited financial statements of the department.

Section 6   includes other reporting as required under legislation and the Requirements for annual reports.
