Australian emissions unit
A unit corresponding to one metric tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions and issued by the regulator of the emissions trading scheme. A liable entity will be required to surrender one pollution permit or eligible Kyoto unit for each tonne of covered emissions that the entity releases to the atmosphere.
