Continuing order of the Senate: Indexed lists of departmental and agency files
File lists are provided in accordance with the Continuing order of the Senate for documents. This order requires each department and agency to:
… provide, on its Internet home page, access to an indexed list of the titles of all relevant files, including new parts of existing files, created from 1 January 1998 in the central office of that department or agency (departments and agencies may choose to maintain online an indexed list of all new files created from that date or to maintain online an indexed list of, as a minimum, the most recent year's file creations).
Arrangement of file listings
The list for the Department of Climate Change, divided into business functions based on the departmental business classification scheme.
An individual list is provided for the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator.
In accordance with the terms of the Continuing order of the Senate the following files have been excluded:
- case related files
- files related to internal administration of the department (eg. staff and personnel matters, property management, finance)
- cabinet related material.
Individual words or portions of a title replaced with XXXXXXX have been deleted due to:
- commercially confidential information
- identifiable personal information.
Access to individual files
Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act), members of the public can seek access to documents contained on any of the files listed here. To make a request under the FOI Act you should write to the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency at the address below, state that the request is made pursuant to the FOI Act and indicate which documents you are seeking. The request should be accompanied by a $30 application fee (cheque or money order made payable to the Collector of Public Monies). The letter should be addressed to:

The FOI Act provides that further charges may be imposed for processing requests. Note also that the provision of access to documents is subject to the FOI Act which provides a number of exemptions from release.
