Temporary employment register

The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency invites individuals interested in working on a temporary basis to register their interest. Vacancies may become available on an irregular basis, and are usually of a short to medium term nature. The Department will review the register when a need arises to fill positions not advertised elsewhere on www.climatechange.gov.au/employment.

To be eligible for temporary employment, an applicant must be an Australian citizen and have a Baseline security clearance. If appropriate (depending on the duration of the employment opportunity and the delegate's approval), a successful applicant without the necessary security clearance may be employed under the condition that they complete a Baseline security clearance pack prior to commencing in the department.

Applicants would normally be expected to be residents of the Australian Capital Territory, or within reasonable traveling distance of the Australian Capital Territory, as relocation costs are not payable in respect of employment arising from the temporary employment register.

Applications are valid for a period of 12 months from the lodgment date. An updated application must be lodged every year to maintain enrolled status. An applicant may lodge a new application at any time to update their details.
