Temporary Employment Register
The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency invites individuals interested in working on a temporary basis to register their interest. Vacancies may become available on an irregular basis, and are usually of a short to medium term nature. Applicants would normally be expected to be residents of the Australian Capital Territory, or within reasonable traveling distance of the Australian Capital Territory, as relocation costs are not payable in respect of employment arising from the temporary employment register.
Eligibility
To be eligible for temporary employment, an applicant must be an Australian citizen, have security clearance at the protected level and be listed on the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency register. If appropriate (depending on the duration of the employment opportunity and the delegate's approval), a successful applicant without the necessary security clearance may be employed under the condition that they complete a protected security clearance pack before commencing in the department; they would in this case be issued a waiver pending formal clearance.
Applications are valid for a period of 12 months from the lodgment date, an updated application must be lodged every year to maintain enrolled status. An applicant may lodge a new application at any time to update their details.
If an individual wishes to be removed from the register, check their current status or has any further questions, they should submit a request to the recruitment officer at recruitment@climatechange.gov.au.
