Discussion Paper: Treatment of renewable energy in the NGER System
On 7 July 2010, the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency released the Discussion Paper: Treatment of renewable energy in the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System.
The aim of this paper is to seek feedback on the treatment of voluntary renewable energy purchases – notably GreenPower™ and voluntarily surrendered Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) – for the calculation of scope 2 emissions under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System (NGERS).
The deadline for submissions was extended to 13 September 2010.
