Barriers to effective climate change adaptation
On 20 September 2011 an inquiry by the Productivity Commission into Barriers to effective climate change adaptation was announced by the Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, the Hon Mr Greg Combet MP, and the former Assistant Treasurer, the Hon. Mr Bill Shorten MP.
The Productivity Commission will release its draft report by April/May 2012, followed by public hearings in June/July 2012 and a final report in September 2012.
The Department's initial submission to the inquiry brings together evidence of market and regulatory barriers to adaptation collected through Government programs under the $126 million National Adaptation Framework.
