The Government's climate change initiative for primary industries. Administered by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Australian Carbon Trust
Established by the Government to further support individual action by households and businesses. The Trust will help everyone do their bit to reduce Australia's carbon pollution and to drive energy efficiency in commercial buildings and businesses. It is being established by the Department of Climate Change
Australian Centre for Renewable Energy
Part of the Clean Energy Initiative. Promoting the development, commercialisation and deployment of renewable technologies through a commercial investment approach. Administered by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism.
Australian Climate Change Regulatory Authority
The Australian Climate Change Regulatory Authority will start operations as a separate entity from the time that the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme legislation is passed by Parliament. The Authority will oversee the operations of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. It is being established by the Department of Climate Change.
Australian Climate Change Science Program
The Australian Climate Change Science Program aims to improve our understanding of the causes, nature, timing and consequences of climate change so that industry, community and government decisions can be better informed. Administered by the Department of Climate Change.
Australian Greenhouse Emissions Information System - AGEIS
The AGEIS provides detailed greenhouse gas emissions data from the National Greenhouse Accounts. Administered by The Department of Climate Change
Australian National Registry of Emissions Units
The Australian National Registry of Emissions Units (ANREU) is a system designed to meet one of Australia’s commitments under the Kyoto Protocol.
Australian Solar Institute
Part of the Clean Energy Initiative. Advancing Australia’s research and development capabilities in solar energy technology. Part of the Clean Energy Initiative administered by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism.

Bilateral Climate Change Partnership Program
These partnerships provide opportunities for building stronger political relationships and influencing other countries’ climate change policies at the highest level.
Bureau of Meteorology
The Bureau of Meteorology collects a wide range of data from the atmosphere, oceans and land surface in order to better understand our climate. This data is used to assess global and Australian climate trends and variability and to develop projections for Asutralia's future climate. Australia has already experinced, on average, a temperature rise of about 1°C and changes to rainfall patterns over the continent.

Carbon Capture and Storage Flagships
Part of the Clean Energy Initiative. Supporting the construction and demonstration of large-scale integrated carbon capture and storage projects in Australia. Administered by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism.
Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme
This program is the main driver of the Government's plan to reduce Australia's greenhouse gas emissions. Administered by the Department of Climate Change.
Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF)
Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum focuses on cooperation to develop and apply technologies for the separation and capture of carbon dioxide for its transport and long-term safe storage. Secretariat administered by the United States Department of Energy.

The Australian Government is committed to working with local communities to address the challenges of coastal growth and climate change.
Centre for Australian Weather and Climate Research (CAWCR)
The Centre for Australian Weather and Climate Research is a partnership between Australia's leading atmospheric and oceanographic research agencies: the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO.
Clean Business Australia Initiative
A partnership with Australian business and industry. The initiative supports a range of activities aimed at improving energy and water efficiency and increasing sustainability, with a focus on productivity and innovation. Administered by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.
Clean energy initiative
The Clean Energy Initiative complements the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme and Renewable Energy Target, by supporting the research, development and demonstration of low-emission energy technologies, including industrial scale carbon capture and storage and solar energy. Administered by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism.
Climate Change Action Fund
The Government has established the $1.97 billion Climate Change Action Fund to provide targeted assistance to business, community sector organisations, workers, regions and communities, helping to smooth the transition to a low-pollution economy. Whole of government initiative.
