Home Insulation Safety Plan

The Australian Government’s Home Insulation Safety Plan will help provide reassurance to households that had insulation installed under the now discontinued Home Insulation Program (HIP).

The four key elements of the Government’s Safety Plan are:

• The Home Insulation Safety Program (HISP) for households that had non-foil insulation installed under the Home Insulation Program. A minimum of 150,000 safety inspections will be undertaken as part of the Home Insulation Safety Program.
• The Foil Insulation Safety Program (FISP) for the 50,000 homes that had foil insulation installed under the Home Insulation Program.
• Industry Assistance for workers and reputable businesses impacted by the closure of the Home Insulation Program in February.
• Strong Fraud and Compliance Measures to investigate and crack down on individuals and businesses found to have done the wrong thing.
