Consultation on Renewable Energy Target Regulations

On 24 June 2010 the Commonwealth Parliament passed legislation to separate the Renewable Energy Target (RET) into the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target and the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme. A number of regulations need to be made as a consequence of the amendments made by Parliament.

The Government has released public exposure drafts of the:

  • Renewable Energy (Electricity) Amendment Regulations (pdf 381 KB) and
  • Renewable Energy (Electricity) Amendment (Transitional Provisions) Amendment Regulations (PDF 153 KB).

The Government has also released a commentary paper (PDF 897 KB) to explain the technical detail of the draft regulations.

Stakeholders were invited to make submissions on the draft regulations. Public consultation closed on Friday 29 October 2010.
