Community
- Subsidising residential and business energy audits
- Encouraging residential energy efficient practices such as provision of energy efficient light globes at events
- Involvement with the Green Power Educational Tour
- Implementation of a Cycleway network
- 'Education for Sustainability' program
- Council's Waste Program
- Greenhouse Parks Program including Photovoltaic cells.
Travel
- Implementation of a Cycleway network - 1 Prius in Council fleet.
Corporate
- Energy Performance Contract - Development of Sustainable Waste Avoidance and Purchasing Policy - Purchase of Green Power for Events - 1 x Prius in Council fleet.
Future greenhouse abatement actions
- Council will continue with the programs already implemented and will constantly focus on greenhouse gas abatement in both the corporate and community sectors.
