City of Botany Bay
The City of Botany Bay is committed to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) Australia program.
The City of Botany Bay has employed a number of actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including participation in the Local Government Emissions Trading Scheme championed by Randwick City Council in association with the City of Botany Bay and Waverley Council and development and implementation of Council's Energy Efficiency Development Control Plan, the first of its kind in NSW. Council has also taken steps toward developing an energy-efficient fleet, with the acquisition of its first two hybrid vehicles.
Through participation in CCP, the City of Botany Bay is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by setting achievable goals and milestones and formulating plans to reach these.
