Dubbo City Council has made significant achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions under the CCP program, in both the community and the corporate sector. Council remains committed to the program and principles of energy reduction, both environmental and economic, with future priorities to target internal operations and community education and facilitation of change.

Actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Community
Community energy efficiency seminars, sponsored by Green Power and financial incentives to local residents. Project undertaken March 2005.Corporate
- Installing variable speed drives on pumps, lighting timers & installation of energy efficiency lighting, timers on hot water machines, vehicle downsizing, conversion to LPG fuel & vehicle replacement program.
Future greenhouse abatement actions
- Actions for consideration include energy audits of high energy consuming buildings/facilities, develop Strategy for sustainable energy use, identifying internal costs of water and energy consumption, staff education of energy reduction principles and community education.
