Kogarah Municipal Council
Kogarah Council believes that its participation in the Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) Australia program for over 8 years has been a key component in helping Council reduce its greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency, transport management, building policies, waste management and land-use strategies.
Greenhouse saving projects Kogarah Council has implemented include the installation of solar cells onto the Kogarah library roof, retrofits of selected residents' homes, energy assessment of local businesses and energy audits of all Council's major energy using facilities. Kogarah Council looks forward to continuing to be part of CCP to demonstrate its leadership in addressing environmental issues.
