Community
Council is implementing the:
- Energy Smart Housing Policy
- AAA Showerhead replacement program
- Green Power education
- Waste minimisation and recycling programs
- Community education campaign - Sustaining Wingecarribee.
Travel
- Council's Bike Plan - 23 km of bike tracks constructed, with plans for more.
Corporate
- Purchasing Green Power for Council's facilites
- Green Car Program - engine downsizing of fleet
- Waste minimisation and recycling
- Creation of Sustainable Workplace Action Team (SWAT) to identify and implement sustainable practices in the workplace.
Future greenhouse abatement actions
- Council is investigating the adoption of an Energy Performance Contract to cover numerous sites, facilities and utilities.
