The Shadow Minister for Climate Action, Greg Hunt, has today let the cat out of the bag and has again highlighted Tony Abbott's hypocrisy when it comes to climate change.

Mr Hunt has today revealed that Tony Abbott would introduce a carbon tax of at least $15 per tonne.

“ With respect, that’s an incorrect reading. What we have set out is that the average cost of emissions, which we would allow for, and our program is $15 a tonne, the price for an individual sector may be high or low, but our approach is very simple – we will simply go to the market and purchase the lowest-cost emissions reduction.”

Until today, Tony Abbott has opposed a carbon tax and says he doesn't accept the need to tackle climate change. But now his own Shadow Minister has confirmed their secret plan for an effective $15 per tonne carbon tax. This will flow through and hit household budgets directly.

This just shows the hypocrite Tony Abbott really is.

Tony Abbott has been running a scare campaign, but all along has had a secret carbon tax as his policy.

And it’s all at a cost to households because under the Coalition’s policy there would be no assistance for low and middle income households – just a cost of $720 per household.
