National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System Calculator

What does the Calculator do?

The National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System Calculator assists corporations to self assess whether or not their corporate group or any of their facilities meet reporting thresholds under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act 2007.

You just enter information on your facilities' or corporations' fuel or electricity use and receive an estimate of emissions and energy use.

Online Calculator

The NGERS Calculator does not require a password for access and use is anonymous. Data entered during your session will not be retained when you exit the application. However, you can save a PDF copy of your assessment at the end of your session.

User Guide

Basic instructions for use are included within the application. Detailed instructions are also available in the user manual.

Step by step instructions can also be accessed from each screen in the NGERS Calculator via the Help button.

This site requires browser support for Javascript. Although efforts have been made to ensure this site is compatible with a wide range of browsers and accessibility standards, compatibility with all browsers can not be assured. If you experience difficulty accessing this site please contact 1800 018 831 for assistance.

Exclusions

Although included in threshold calculations under the NGER Act, activity data relating to energy production, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons and waste will not be included in this iteration of the Calculator. These functions may be introduced in a subsequent release. If these sources are significant for your corporation, you may wish to use the methods set out in the National Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors to determine whether your corporate group or any of your facilities are likely to meet the reporting thresholds.
